WI-HI FACULTY DEFEAT
SOFTBALL TEAM IN INAUGURAL FACULTY VS. VARSITY GAME
The Wi-Hi Faculty and Staff,
led by winning pitcher Dr. Banks, defeated the varsity softball team by a score
of 9-5. Almost 20 staff played in the game, as did most of the Varsity Softball
Lady Indians.
Dr. Banks pitched all 7
innings and had 5 strikeouts in the effort, and gave up only 1 earned run. The
offense was led by Mr. Currence, whose double was the lone extra-base hit of the
night. The staff took advantage of passed balls to reach bases and score two
runs in the first inning. Mr. Burkhardt led the defense with two assists from
left field, cutting down runners at the plate. Mr. Devine led the crowd with
his trombone "Charge!" cheers.
The Varsity were led by
pitcher Stephanie Muir, who had a no-hitter through 5 innings and struck more
than half a dozen, most with a devastating change-up. Lindsey Bouchard also
pitched. More pictures, taken by W.
Corry Larson , can
be found here.

MARKING TERM 4 PROGRESS REPORTS
HAVE BEEN ISSUED - MUST PASS 4TH TO PASS!
All
Wi-Hi students should have received their 4th Marking Term Progress
report by the end of the day today. Please review with your student
their percentages in each class, and feel free to contact teachers with
any concerns. The school phone number is (410) 677-5146 and messages
left for teachers will be returned promptly, usually by that night.
Just
a reminder, any class that a student fails for 4th Marking Period means
the student has failed that class for the year and no credit is earned.
If it's needed for graduation, it will have to be repeated. Encourage
our Wi-Hi students to do their best for the last five weeks and to live
up to Mr. Hughes' challenge of NO FAILURES IN ANY CLASSES for 2008-09!
Sport physicals can be done
on June 5 from 6-8 pm at Parkside High School. This physical will be
good for all of the 2008-2009 school/athletic year. Cost is $15. Insurance

even those kids who will be coming from 8th grade into Wi-Hi. If they
