2016 marks another successful year of Relay for life at Wi-Hi! This year the event was two weeks earlier, so the team only had four days to prepare.
The overall theme this year was "Painting the World Purple" and Wi-Hi took on the theme of "Purple Rain".
We splattered our shirts Jackson Pollock style. We sold baked goods
and t-shirts and our new "Shoot for a Cure" game was a success.
This year's "Ms Relay", was Issac Lawson with professional make-up done by Josie Organasta.
In total, Wi-Hi students raised $945.05!!!!! (We were hoping to make it to $1000.00, so if you wanted to donate, but didn't get around to it, it's not to late.)
There were over 60 teams and 536 participants in all. The entire event raised $123,795.23!
The Wi-Hi relay for life team would like to thank all of the staff and
students and especially Mrs. Pavlekovich, for all their help this year
raising money for American Cancer Society!
Cancer remains the second most common cause of death in the US, accounting for nearly 1 of every 4 deaths. Thank you to all who came out to show their support. In honor and in memory of all those battling cancer, we thank you.
